Beginner’s Workshop Foundations of Mindful Movement

“Build your house on a rock”

This workshop is designed to provide a foundation that will support beginning yogis, and/or any yoga practitioner, seeking to revisit key elements of yoga. One of the objectives in this program is to cultivate more awareness; body, mind, and breath.

In this workshop students will learn fundamental body placement, alignment, modifications, intentional breathing, flow state activation, and how to deepen their yoga practice at every level.

Mindful movement will build strength on and off the mat. It is also a great way to help prevent injury. This workshop will encourage students to feel more, listen at a high level and always do what is best for their body.

We will practice:

-ujjayi breath
-posture/alignment
-body cues/awareness
-lines of energy
-drishti (gaze)
-modifications
-chaturanga
-strengthening/softening
-flow
-brief yoga philosophy
-balance
-core

The beginners workshop will lay a foundation and starting point for students to continue exploration of their body. We will also discuss the “why” and “how” to be in choice when practicing yoga.

Students will leave feeling supported, confident and motivated in their yoga practice. We will also cover ways to balance time on the mat, how to trust what’s needed rather going deeper or taking rest.

This is a safe space to learn or “unlearn” movements and will offer time to ask questions live while in a yoga posture. Students will receive touch feedback, personalized verbal cues, and intimate guidance from the teacher.

Please Bring: mat, towel, water, pen and journal. We will be on our mats so dress comfortably and ready to move!

Cost: $44
